Area Commissioning Team Leader
Onsite, Cumbria
12 month contract
We are seeking an experienced Area Commissioning Team Leader to join our client’s team, reporting directly to the Deputy Commissioning Manager and Commissioning Manager.
This pivotal role involves leading Lead Commissioning Engineers, Commissioning Engineers, and Commissioning Technicians to deliver safe, timely, and efficient commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion safety as the highest priority, striving for Zero Harm, and act as a role model for nuclear, radiological, conventional, and environmental safety.
- Support project Safety Leadership activities, including plant/system walkdowns and conducting ‘Leader in the Field’ surveys and assessments.
- Deliver defined commissioning work scopes according to strategy and plan, ensuring timeliness and cost-effectiveness.
- Manage the compilation and approval of Commissioning Test Documents (IPC & ISC) via the GoC Completions Management System (CMS).
- Oversee the execution of arrangements for controlling, witnessing, recording, and assessing commissioning test results.
- Provide weekly Area Commissioning progress reports to Commissioning Management.
- Ensure all commissioning reporting is completed accurately and on time.
- Maintain and present Line of Site (LOS) boards daily to track progress and issues.
- Liaise with the Commissioning Planner to maximise delivery opportunities and support progress reporting.
- Coordinate with Commissioning Management/GOC to achieve system execution completion on schedule, enabling client handover.
- Record, manage, and prioritise all commissioning activities and resources for successful project delivery.
- Integrate input from other project processes, including design, HAZOP, risk, contract, estimating, and knowledge management.
- Ensure the commissioning team is SQEP to SL/JV requirements, with all relevant training completed and maintained.
- Collaborate with engineering and construction teams to enable the earliest possible system handover.
- Drive continuous improvement within the commissioning process.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Proven commissioning experience in a managerial role for nuclear or conventional systems.
- Experience with GoC CMS (or similar) preferred.
- Strong Control Systems expertise.
- Degree, HNC, or HND in an Engineering-related subject preferred.
- Knowledge of project management; APM membership desirable.
- IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent certification.
- CSCS card or equivalent.
